| Product Data | |
| Expression Host | HEK293 |
| Tag | C-6×His |
| Predicted MW | The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 121.8 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of ITGA2-His is approximately 130-250 kDa due to glycosylation. |
| Purity | The purity of the protein is greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining. |
| Storage | Store at -20°C to -80°C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -80°C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing). Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature. |
| Stability | 12 months from date of despatch |

| Synonyms | Integrin alpha-2, Collagen receptor, GPIa, CD49b |
| Summary | This gene encodes the alpha subunit of a transmembrane receptor for collagens and related proteins. The encoded protein forms a heterodimer with a beta subunit and mediates the adhesion of platelets and other cell types to the extracellular matrix. Loss of the encoded protein is associated with bleeding disorder platelet-type 9. Antibodies against this protein are found in several immune disorders, including neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia. This gene is located adjacent to a related alpha subunit gene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012] |
