Background	MCP-2 is a CC chemokine subfamily monocyte chemotactic protein. MCP-2 also chemoattracts activated NK cells, CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes, and eosinophils and can induce histamine secretion from basophils. MCP-2 shares 62% amino acid sequence identity with MCP-1 and 58% with MCP-3.
