Background	Alarin is a 25-amino acid peptide that belongs to the galanin peptide family encoded by a splice variant of galanin-like peptide (GALP) mRNA. Alarin mRNA has been detected in the mouse brain, skin, and thymus. It also participates in the regulation of feeding, metabolism, and reproduction, where it stimulates feeding behavior, increases body weight, and influences luteinizing hormone and gonadotropin-releasing hormone secretion. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Alarin coupled to a carrier protein.
