Background	Gamma2-Melanocyte Stimulation Hormone (γ2-MSH) is a 12 amino acid peptide that is derived from the N-terminal fragment of POMC and contains the His-Phe-Arg-Trp motif common to all melanocortin endogenous agonist ligands peptide. It mediates a central analgesic effect via a GABA-ergic mechanism that is independent from activation of melanocortin receptors. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with γ2-MSH coupled to a carrier protein.
