Background	Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), also known as Somatomedin C, is a hormone similar to insulin. It is produced primarily by the liver as an endocrine hormone, which affects a wide range of cells and plays a key role in cell proliferation and growth. IGF- 1 is also linked to tumor cell growth, due to its inhibitory effect on apoptosis. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with recombinant IGF-1.
