Applications ELISA, ID, IF, IHC, WB
Recommend Dilution The immunoconjugate is intended for use in different types of highly sensitive fluorescence immunoassays on appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates. This product is not pre-diluted.
Recommended Working Dilutions: 1/10-1/40.
Reactivity Porcine
Host Guinea Pig
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Insulin hormone is isolated from Porcine pancreas.
Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Specificity The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to Insulin as tested by ELISA and Immunoblotting. No reaction was obtained with other Swine serum proteins.
Cross-reactivity: Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to mammalian proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. The degree of cross-reactivity is also dependent on the concentrations of the reactants and the sensitivity of the assay arrangement. This antiserum fraction has not been tested for cross-reactivity.
Formulation PBS, pH 7.2
Label: FITC
State: Lyophilised purified hyperimmune IgG fraction
Preservative: None, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign proteins added
Absorption emission: 492 nm- 515 nm
Molar radio: Fluorochrome/IgG ~ 2.7
Reconstitution Method Restore with 1 ml sterile distilled water
Concentration lot specific
Purification Hyperimmune antisera with strong precipitating activity are selected for fractionation by Salt Precipitation and purification of the IgG fraction by DEAE Chromatography
Conjugation FITC
Storage Condition Store lyophilized at 2-8°C for 6 months or at -20°C long term.
After reconstitution store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month
or (in aliquots) at -20°C long term.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Background Insulin is a hormone produced by the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. It plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrate by its effects on the storage of glycogen in the liver, the conversion of carbohydrate to fat, and the oxidation of glucose by the peripheral tissues. Insulin has a molecular weight of 6,000 and contains two peptide chains linked by two disulphide bonds.
Synonyms INS
Note Adsorption: Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required to eliminate antibodies crossreacting with other serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.
